Which, however, did not stop him from falling in love with her. They had a child who distracted Venus from meditation, so that after a while he died from a snake bite. Then he was born as a prince, and many more times was born on Earth. He turned even into a bamboo grove and into a python. In the end, he was born the son of a seer who lived on the banks of the Ganges.
Meanwhile, the sage Bhrigu just finished his meditation, less than half a year later, as they say. When he saw that his son’s body was withered and decayed, he became furious and wanted to curse the god of death, Yamaraja. But he immediately appeared, addressed him with such speeches:
- Do not waste spiritual strength on curses that you earned so much work! All creations are my food, and there is no account of the worlds that I have already swallowed! Moreover, your son himself brought upon himself such a fate! “And Yamaraj told the saddened father about everything his offspring did and added at the end:“ Look with your third eye on the banks of the Ganges, where he atones for all this, undergoing severe austerities.
Having said this, the god of death brought back life to Venus, he bowed to his father and, being in a state of utter perplexity, asked:
- What happened? What do all these lives mean that I have dreamed since I followed the heavenly beauty?
“You were captivated by the illusion, my son,” answered Bhrigu, “which, captivating the minds of all living beings, carries them more and more into their mortal embrace. - Continuing in this way and explaining to him the illusory essence of the whole creation, the sage guided his son on the righteous path.
Inspired by the speeches of the parent, Sukra embarked on the path of asceticism, but after several thousand years he did not achieve success in worshiping Shiva. Then he imposed himself even more severe austerities, after which Shiva appeared and promised him that he would become his son. In addition, the god of destruction presented him with sanjivani-vidya - knowledge of the resurrection of the dead, which was owned only by him, his wife and two sons.
And it happened like this: enraged by the fact that Sukra, as the guru of demons in everything supported them to the detriment of the entire Universe, Shiva grabbed him and swallowed. So Venus lived inside Shiva for many divine years, saw all the worlds, gods and demons there, in the end, Venus found a way out through the genital organ of Shiva. Amazed by such resourcefulness, the god of destruction gave him a name - Sukra.
