The archaeological find of the Vishnu statue in Russia is 8,000 years old.

An ancient image of Vishnu was found during excavations in an old village in the Volga region of Russia. This find shook the foundations of the modern theory of the origin of ancient Russia even more.

The image is located in the village of Staraya Maina - a village in the Ulyanovsk region that was a densely populated city 1,700 years ago. Staraya Maina is much older than Kiev and is still considered the mother of all cities in Russia.

"We may consider this incredible, but we have reason to assert that the Middle Volga region was the ancestral home of Ancient Rus. This is a hypothesis, but a hypothesis that requires careful research," said the archaeologist of the department of Ulyanovsk State University, Dr. Alexander Kozhevin.

Dr. Kogevin has been excavating at Staraya Maina for the past seven years. In his opinion, every square meter in the vicinity of the ancient city, located on the banks of the Samara, a tributary of the Volga, is dotted with antiques.

Before finding the image of Vishnu, Dr. Kogevin had already found ancient coins, pendants, rings and fragments of weapons.

The scientist believes that Old Maina, with the current size of the city of 8 thousand people, in ancient times was ten times larger. It was from here that people began to move to the Don and the Dnieper during the time of ancient Rus, and then the city of Kiev was built there.
