Nabho (khechari) -mudra

“Wherever the yogi is, and whatever he does, he must always keep his tongue [turned] up and hold his breath. This is a nabho mudra that drives away diseases from a yogi. "
Gheranda Samhita (3.9)
When the yogi presses his tongue to the upper palate, the front and rear energy channels (arahan and avarahan) are closed, due to which prana begins to circulate in the body in a closed circle, purifying the nadis.
It is believed that there are four types of nabho mudra:
~ jihva mudra, when the tongue is pressed against the upper palate in the area of the teeth, increasing the wind element,
~ nabho mudra, when the tongue is pressed in the center of the upper palate, strengthening the fire element,
~ Manduki mudra, when the tongue is wrapped as far as possible to the tongue, strengthening the element of water and contributing to the strengthening of nectar,
~ khechari mudra, when the tongue is pushed into the hole behind the small tongue.
In order to strengthen this or that element in the body, an appropriate type of nabho mudra is performed.
In the practices of the Shakti Yantra section, the Nabho Mudra is always recommended to be performed.
