Eco Ranch surrounded by natural scenery

Built in a clearing surrounded by trees and ponds on a ranch in Montana, USA, this home looks more like a secluded hideaway than a family residence. The landscape is breathtaking: the river crosses the site and spills into streams in spring, the lush vegetation organizes the garden, the mountains in the distance call to rise to the sky. The water level changes throughout the year and threatens to flood the land, so the architects raised the entire structure of the building by 76 centimeters. This measure protects the structure from flooding and allows the river to flow safely under the foundation and around the structure. The residence consists of two sections, built in a T-shape. The wood-clad part contains a kitchen, lounge, bedrooms, bathrooms and a garage. The more compact perpendicular extension accommodates the living room, which boasts glass walls on three sides, while the master bedroom is designed on the second floor. The designers placed one four-sided fireplace in the common room and the second, suspended, in the bedroom. A warm palette of surfaces made of wood and locally produced limestone was chosen for the decor.
