Yogic Sadhana

Sri Aurobindo - Yogic Sadhana.

The right direction of the Path is the exact opposite of that in which most people are moving, including you.

The right direction of the Path is the exact opposite of that in which most people are moving, including you. Usually they start with the body and the energies circulating in it, then go on to emotions and the mind, and end with the mind and will. In fact, one should begin with the will, and end with the body. Those who start with the will do not need physical and breathing exercises, holding their breath, cleansing the heart, or some other form of preliminary preparation. This is exactly what Sri Ramakrishna came to show, [1] –– this was actually the yoga part of his mission. “First bow before Shakti, the Divine Power,” he said, “receive the Power and it gives you the Truth.” The yogi needs first of all Will and Strength. That is why Sri Ramakrishna constantly repeated, “-“ Remember, you are Brahman, the Absolute, ”- and that was the main idea that he conveyed to Swami Vivekananda. [2] You are Sir, Ishwara. You can become pure, perfect, you can become anything by choosing this –– or, by choosing the opposite, you can become something directly opposite. The first thing you can’t do without is faith in yourself, then faith in God and, finally, faith in Kali, the Divine Mother, for this is what the world stands on. First, educate the Will, with the help of the Will, cultivate knowledge, with the help of knowledge cleanse the heart, establish control over the energies of the body and calm the mind. Using all these tools, make the body immortal. Here is the true Yoga, here is the true and only Tantra. Vedanta begins with Reason, Tantra with Sipa.
What is Will, you already know. This is Shakti, Strength is not desire or effort. Desire and effort are a denial of the will. If you want something, then you doubt the strength of your Will. Brahman does not wish. He expresses the will –– and everything happens according to his Will. If you make an effort, then you doubt the strength of your Will. Only those who feel or think that they are not strong enough to fight and work to achieve a result. Brahman makes no effort. He expresses a will –– and his Will produces a spontaneous effect. But she produces it in the world of time, space and causal relationships. It is only through ignorance that one can demand a result immediately, on the spot, under the given circumstances. The time, place and circumstances of each event were determined by you and the Almighty a long time ago, at the very beginning of the current world cycle. Fighting this, trying to change what you have established, is possible only through ignorance. Do not worry about time, place and circumstances, but express your will by placing the final result on God, who is your omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient Self. You are an individual God, and He is a universal, universal God. There is nothing but God; God is one, there is nothing else. Therefore, the Will implies an equal attitude to everything, a lack of desire and effort. Lack of desire and effort requires knowledge. Without knowledge, you cannot prevent the return of desire and effort.
The question is where to start. There is Strength in you. Let her act and assist her in taking the right attitude towards her. You are a Sakshi –– one who observes what is happening; you Anumanta - the one who gives his consent; you are Bhokta - the one who enjoys him; you Bharta is the one who supports him. Therefore, order that the Force begin to work, observe how it solves the task assigned to it, enjoy the fruits of its labor, and also help it by caring for the "vessel" (Adhara) in which it does its work. Do not destroy it with carelessness or overstrain. Rest assured, your Will is inexhaustible. You are a Jnat - one who knows: do not shy away from any knowledge that reveals itself to you. Having taken the position described here, do not leave it, no matter what happens in your life or in Sadhana. You do not need to do anything else. Kali will do the rest. Do not worry, do not worry, do not rush –– before you is all eternity, why rush? Just do not plunge into apathy and do not waste time .
