Superfood detox smoothies

Oranges are not only good for strengthening your immune system, but also for cleansing your internal organs, especially the colon and liver.

Chia seeds are high in fiber, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and high in antioxidants. They also have the ability to fight inflammation, lower blood pressure, and help the body absorb vitamins better.

Apples contain a large amount of pectin (most of it is found in the skin), which binds to bad cholesterol and heavy metals, removing them from the body and cleansing the intestines. They also contain the antioxidant quercetin, which supports your immune system and even delivers more oxygen to your lungs for increased endurance.

Ginger is used in many popular cleansing programs because it is believed to cleanse the body by stimulating digestion, circulation, and sweating. Its digestive action can help clear the buildup of waste and toxins in the colon, liver, and other organs.

Goji berries increase energy and longevity. These small red berries strengthen the immune system and support the function of the liver and kidneys, which are the organs responsible for detoxifying our body. Goji purify blood, improve circulation and effectively lower cholesterol levels. Goji berries have also been hailed as the world's most powerful anti-aging food!

Turmeric is a spice that has been extensively studied for its role in helping the liver detoxify. Turmeric contains a powerful phytochemical known as curcumin, which aids digestion and helps with liver disease. Curcumin is also prized for its anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and antioxidant effects. To get the best out of turmeric, you must pair it with a pinch of pepper and some fat (tahini and brazil nuts will help you in this case, they are rich in healthy fats!)

Brazil nuts contain selenium, which not only detoxifies the body of mercury, but is also critical for your body's main detoxification system (glutathione).

Tahini is high in fat, most of which are unsaturated (which means it's incredibly healthy!). It is an excellent source of vitamin E, which is known for its anti-aging properties. It is also a good source of methionine. Methionine is an amino acid that aids in liver detoxification and helps in the absorption of other amino acids.
