The Pole Pass Retreat is located on San Juan Island in Washington DC, USA. Built right on the coast, it offers panoramic views of the Selish Sea and surrounding islands, and is bordered by dense forest. Designed for a relaxing holiday with family and friends, the house reaches its maximum potential in the summer, when the pavilion with panoramic windows can be fully opened and enjoyed the fresh air. The interior and nature around them become one, and the large terrace doubles the size of the residence. The house has one bedroom designed, but it has an additional folding bed. The warm palette in the interior is contrasted with the rough finish of the facade, made of steel and dark siding.
