105-year-old Japanese doctor reveals the secret of longevity

One of the main ways to live a long life is to eat a certain diet that does not allow you to get fat. A doctor from Japan, an expert in the field of longevity Shigeaki Hinohara, who managed to live up to 105 years, told about this in his book "Live Long, Live Well".

According to the doctor, centenarians are united by a common feature - the absence of excess weight. In turn, obesity is one of the significant factors that increased the risks of many diseases and premature death.

The doctor discovered a way to avoid excess weight and thus prolong life - to adhere to the dietary system, which he called the Spartan diet. Dr. Hinohara himself adhered to her entire adult life.

“The diet is based on whole grains: barley and wheat. In addition, fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, strictly small amounts of meat, seafood and dairy products are used. For processed foods, bread, cheese and olive oil are allowed. Sugar is excluded, ”he stressed.

The peculiarity of this diet is the absence of snacks between meals. There is no need to count calories - you just need to eat at each meal to satisfy your hunger. Carbohydrate foods are recommended to be consumed in the morning.

"In tandem with physical activity, such nutrition can ensure a long and healthy life," said the doctor, who lived to be 105 years old.
