How to cook quinoa CORRECTLY

Quinoa is considered a grain crop native to South America. Quinoa was the main food source of the Indians along with potatoes and corn. A number of healthy and nutritious dishes can be prepared from it. In particular, quinoa can successfully replace grains such as rice, couscous or bulgur in your meals.

How to cook and what to eat quinoa with
It is recommended to soak the quinoa before cooking (it does not matter - for an hour, overnight). This is done to activate the nutrients inside the cereal. Also, before cooking, it must be rinsed with running water. This can be done, for example, in a fine sieve.

How to boil quinoa
Pour 1: 2 quinoa with water (i.e. for 1 glass of quinoa - 2 glasses of water).
Bring to a boil, reduce flame.
Add salt, cover and cook for 15 minutes.
The quinoa seeds will become transparent and a small sprout will appear on the side.

For a richer flavor, quinoa can be cooked in a vegetable broth.

How to consume quinoa
Method 1.
When warm, boiled quinoa is served as a side dish.

How to diversify the taste of quinoa. Cut and fry onions, peppers, zucchini in oil (you can take any vegetables).

Method 2.
You can mix quinoa with buckwheat (1: 1). Rinse, cover with water and cook until tender (just like cooking one quinoa). Add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil to the finished dish.

Method 3.
Quinoa can successfully replace rice, couscous, bulgur in your dishes (for example, stuffed pepper filling).

Method 4.
Chilled quinoa can be the base of a vegetable salad.

Recipe:

1⁄2 cup boiled quinoa
a bunch of arugula,
chopped tomatoes
ripe avocado (diced)
salt pepper,
olive oil.

And here's another recipe:

1 glass of boiled quinoa
finely chopped carrots,
chopped bunch of parsley,
3 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
2 chopped tomatoes
6 pieces of chopped olives,
salt.
For dressing, use olive oil or lemon juice with soy sauce.

Method 5.
You can add quinoa to soup.

Quinoa flakes. Can be used like any other: pour milk or cook porridge.
